Spanish to English audio transcription and translation

We live in an increasingly digital world. This has impacted on everything from medical procedures to house building, and the translation sector has been no exception. Professional translators now regularly receive their work as audio or video files, which require an enhanced skillset in order to process. 

While a traditional translation request sees a translator convert a written document into another language, audio translation and video translation tasks see them working in different ways. As an example, a recent Tomedes client asked us to convert a batch of audio recordings from Spanish to English. We were delighted to be able to help. 

The client didn’t have a transcript of the recordings, so the first task that our Spanish to English translator undertook was to transcribe the original audio. This is a detailed process that requires accuracy and attention to detail – much as translation does! As such, we always ensure that our audio translators have plenty of transcription experience. 

In this case, our Spanish translator methodically transcribed each of the audio files before she began to translate them. Then, she worked her way through each transcription, translating it from Spanish to English. She kept in touch with the client throughout, as there were some moments when the quality of the audio files dipped slightly. In these instances, the client was able to confirm what had been said during the recording, so that our translator could provide a full and accurate translation of each and every file. 

The client was thrilled with the accurate audio translation service that Tomedes provided and already has plans for us to work with her on other translation projects.
