We were contacted the other day by an individual from a prestigious technology firm. The new client explained that his firm had a company booklet that required translating into Swedish. The client also mentioned that the booklet’s translation was alrady completed in part by one of their customers, and so wondered if a full translation was actually required.
Jerry (one of our account managers) responded to the new client within the hour, stating that he’d consult our expert Swedish translator on the matter. Jerry soon got back to the client and informed him that the Swedish transaltor thought that the client’s good-natured customer had provided a helpful but ultimatley sub-standard partial translation. The translator suggested that a complete re-translation from the source material would be necessary.
At first the customer was a little hesitant to agree to this as he expected a complete re-translation would be expensive, but after viewing Jerry’s quotation for the translation, the client realised that he would be getting fantastic value for money and thus commisioned the translation to begin.
The Swedish translator set to work, and translated the client’s document with both accuracy and haste. The client also asked us to assist with the document’s formatting, and when the translation was complete Jerry sent it to our formatting specialist to ensure that the document conformed to the style sheet provided by the client’s company.
The completed Swedish translation was returned to the client before the mutually-agreed deadline, and the client was impressed by our translator’s competany and speed. No doubt we’ll be hearing from this particular client again soon!
